the beers of FUTENMA part 3: Monchshof Schwarzbier

My buddy Hilgar suggested I try this beer, it was in the sampler box so I thought "why not". It has the same bottle as the hells, I'm really going to hate putting this in the recycling. It emits a nice "pitth" sound when I open it. It smells like rye bread, or maybe whole grain. I took my first sip and then immediately took a second. It tastes like a porter, which I'm not surprised by as it's a cold brewed dark lager. It has a very dark chocolate taste to it with small hints of coffee. I almost don't want to drink it, just let it sit in my mouth and marinate my tongue so I can have this flavor for the next few days.
I can see a head forming in the bottle, I wonder how much would form if I poured it into my Orion mug. after about a minute, the head has dissipated. texture wise, it has a weight to it, much like a porter. I hate comparing it to porter again, but that's what I know. I'm going to put on some music as I drink this, it makes me happy.
I'm putting on Zager and Evans 1969 classic "in the year 2525". Good lord, they greatly underestimated how fast we would do pretty much everything they are talking about.
Five stars- Atom Bomb baby, I discovered this song when it was in the Fallout 4 trailer. It have quickly become one of my favorite oldies, write after praise the lord and pass the ammunition. "atom bomb baby, loaded with power, radioactive as a TV tour, a nuclear fission in her soul, loves with the electronic control"

One thing I can say about this beer vs porter is that it has a much more mild flavor. I can take a mouthful of this, while a porter I would just take little sips.Great beer, at 4.9% alcohol it isn't too much to have with a nice meal. I like this quite a bit, it has my seal of approval.
